Your community mobilizing - neighbors protecting neighbors - has worked to drive back ICE enforcement, and now our organizing networks must take on the other powerful parts of the mass deportation machine. This training will help you and your community defense network assess what’s happening in your community, build a plan with your neighbors, and act to free your community from detention camps, 287(g) agreements, ICE at polls, and ICE surveillance.
The neighbor-to-neighbor organizing you’ve been part of has forced a change (yay!) But the mass deportation machine is a $100 billion plus effort that won’t stop unless we have a plan to confront it at every turn.
Whether you are organizing in cities, suburban neighborhoods, or rural areas, this training will give you actionable next steps to identify your goals and create an organizing plan to get ICE in all its forms out of our communities. This training will build on your skills to develop a plan with your community defense group.
We’ll be talking about the ways the mass deportation machine is threatening your community and get into the nitty gritty of how cities, suburban neighborhoods, or rural areas are organizing. This training will help you start or further a plan to get ICE, in all its forms, OUT of your community. BONUS: We will have have an organizer from Columbus, Ohio, join us to talk about their ICE Out victories. Through sustained, local organizing and action, Columbus neighbors are winning against mass deportation. We love them and you will too :)
